Challenges
& Contributions

  1. Early Startup Experience
As the first UX/UI designer to join in the early stages of the service, I played a key role in launching a user-centered app design. Later, I collaborated with the design lead to shape the overall design strategy.

  2. Multi-Platform UX/UI Design
I developed a cohesive design language across iOS and Android apps, ensuring usability and brand consistency through a well-structured design style guide.

  3. Seamless Online Experience
I created a unified UX that spanned from an online bookstore to a seamless reading experience, incorporating responsive web design for an optimal experience across all platforms.

Early App Design—

Back in 2012, the early app design faced several limitations, but I focused on enhancing the reading experience by leveraging unique app-exclusive features. The goal was to make the app more intuitive and user-friendly.

Over time, we refined the UX to not only improve in-app reading but also create a smooth transition between purchasing and reading, making the entire user journey more cohesive.

App Design—

Despite the variations in UI across different devices, the biggest challenge was maintaining a unified and engaging user experience. I worked on creating a simple yet highly functional UX that evolved with continuous improvements while ensuring a consistent and cohesive design.

Online store—

To ensure a seamless shopping experience, I designed an intuitive purchasing flow where users could effortlessly buy, download, and read books through the app. Additionally, I developed and maintained a responsive website optimised for various devices and browsing environments.

With book purchases as a key performance metric, I focused on improving the online shopping experience. We ran multiple layout and feature tests to help users easily discover and evaluate books at a glance. I also designed targeted marketing visuals to drive engagement and conversions based on individual book promotions.
